Galileo Services and the GSA meeting on the eve of the creation of the European Union Agency for the Space Programme (EUSPA)

On 19 November 2020, the European GNSS Agency (GSA) and Galileo Services had their annual meeting addressing initiatives for developing the European space downstream industry.

In his introductory remarks, Rodrigo da Costa, Executive Director of the GSA, welcomed these annual meetings with Galileo Services, which the GSA considers as a valuable counterpart.

Mr da Costa also presented the future evolution of the GSA into the European Union Agency for the Space Programme (EUSPA), the draft regulation being in the process of approval. One of the main rationales behind the creation of EUSPA is to generate synergies between the different components of the EU Space Programme.

Gard Ueland, Chairman of Galileo Services, stated that Galileo Services very much appreciates the good dialogue the two organisations have had over the years and that GS is looking forward to continuing this dialogue even deeper with EUSPA.

GSA and Galileo Services are continuing the dialogue in-between the annual meetings. 2021 will be crucial for creating the best possible platform for capitalising on the large investments made in the European GNSS programmes; through competitiveness of European products, applications and services.
