In 2003, when the Honeywell Global Design Centre (GDC) was established in the Czech Republic, we started research in the aeronautical area - GNSS, UAV, Flight Control Systems, More Electric Aircraft, etc. The Aerospace division of GDC in the Czech Republic employs over 40 Advanced Technology engineers in two locations - Prague and Brno.

puce HONEYWELL in the Navigation domain :

Honeywell has been developing GNSS (GPS) technology since 1984, and is well established as the premier supplier of GNSS based avionics products to the aviation industry. GNSS based products include EGI (Embedded GPS/INS), SIGI (Space Integrated GPS/INS), EGPWS (Enhanced Ground Proximity Warning System), etc. Honeywell is currently leading the development of differential GPS ground stations for LAAS (Local Area Augmentation System) and JPALS (Joint Precision Approach and Landing Systems) applications. Honeywell has expertise in all aspects of GNSS technology including GPS receivers, differential GPS, GPS/INS integration, etc. The current focus of GNSS R&D is software GPS algorithms for improving acquisition/tracking performance of GNSS receivers, ultra tight coupling of GPS and INS to achieve anti-jam/anti-interference, high integrity INS/GPS algorithms for precision approach and autonomous landing.

puce HONEYWELL's involvement in GALILEO SERVICES :

As the premier supplier of GNSS based products to the avionics industry, Honeywell is interested in the development of technologies and products that use GALILEO. Honeywell International s.r.o.'s advanced technology group in the Czech Republic is currently developing an RF front end capable of receiving both GPS and GALILEO signals and is part of the PACIFIC team (lead by EADS) to develop user requirements for GALILEO PRS (Public Regulated Service) receivers. Honeywell advanced technology group in the Czech Republic as the leader of a consortium (with Czech Technical University and others) is developing a telematics prototype that is designed to use GNSS (GPS/Galileo) receivers for positioning. This R&D effort is funded in part by the Czech Ministry of Trade under the Enduring Prosperity program.
