About ARGOSS:
BMT ARGOSS is an innovative solutions developer at the leading edge of atmospheric, marine and coastal information services for planning and design of activities in rural and urban areas, offshore, coastal and harbour sectors.

R&D into SatNav applications
BMT ARGOSS pursues R&D activities directed towards improving the utilisation of satellite based data sources for atmospheric, marine and coastal information for safety and security critical systems. To better understand the potential of Galileo, BMT ARGOSS has participated in GNSS related projects. The objective is to understand and demonstrate GNSS can be incorporated and integrated into the services we provide to our customers.

Company's involvement in Galileo Services
BMT ARGOSS develops and provides a range of products and services used operationally in the maritime, oil & gas and transport market sectors. GNSS and Galileo in particular will allow BMT ARGOSS to improve its current products and services thereby enhancing the performance and quality of the operations performed by our customers.
Galileo capabilities will provide BMT ARGOSS with opportunities to develop new products and services particularly in the near-real-time operational modes. In particular, the strategic combination of navigation, communications and environmental information will generate new and exciting applications and services.
Typical applications are:
- Improvements to navigation support for maritime transport;
- Search and rescue for open oceans and coastal waters;
- Monitoring, controlling and rapid response to calamities in the transportation of dangerous goods;
- Monitoring and forecasting of health risks to people affected by air pollution.

BMT ARGOSS brings to the association expertise in developing and operating atmospheric, marine and costal environment information systems. We aim to stimulate the co-operative development of applications and downstream services.

A good example of how GNSS is used in combination with our services is deep-water operations
|
|
Global positioning is used for deep-water operations by large sea going structures such as heavy lift platforms. Information on wave height and period and direction for swell, as well as the overall sea state are essential for planning and safe operation.
BMT ARGOSS provides statistical information as well as daily 120 hour forecasts.
