ABOUT Abertis Telecom
Abertis Telecom is one of the leading telecommunications infrastructure and services operators in Europe, with a strong presence in both the satellite and terrestrial markets. In the satellite sector, Abertis Telecom is the main shareholder in Eutelsat, with a 32% stake, and is also the main shareholder in Hispasat, with a 33.4% stake. Furthermore, it holds a 51% stake in the Spanish audiovisual services company Overon. In the terrestrial sector, Abertis Telecom owns the largest network in Spain for the broadcast and transmission of audiovisual signals, with more than 3,200 sites. Abertis Telecom is leading the deployment of Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) in Spain, achieving over 96% coverage of the Spanish population.

Abertis Telecom in the NavSat Space:
With a strong presence in the satellite industry, Abertis is one of the biggest international players in the main sectors at which the services to be provided by Galileo are aimed: roads, airports, emergency and security, logistics and telecommunications.
Through Abertis' toll roads business unit, the group has participated in many international tolling projects, the most recent ones being based on GNSS solutions.

Abertis' presence in these sectors can favour the involvement of final users from the very beginning, as well as an early definition of the services, tailored to meet the customers' needs. Abertis Telecom has also a large and proven experience in managing and exploiting telecommunications networks, which can provide a valuable insight with a view to the exploitation phase of the Galileo program.
